Copyright Policy & DMCA Safe Harbor Notice

Last updated: August 2026

1. Author Protection & Ownership

At Lyrify, we hold original creation in the highest regard. Users retain full ownership and copyright of the lyrics and audio content they upload to their personal collections and public profiles on Lyrify.

Under global legal frameworks—including the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (enacted across 180+ nations)—original artistic creations are protected automatically from the moment they are recorded in tangible or digital form.

2. Hosting Provider Safe Harbor Status (DMCA & EU DSA)

Lyrify operates as an online hosting service and digital journal platform (User-Generated Content). Under Section 512 of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and Article 6 of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), Lyrify acts as a passive intermediary and maintains strict Notice and Takedown procedures to protect copyright owners.

3. Notice & Takedown Procedure

If you believe in good faith that content hosted on Lyrify infringes your copyright, you or your authorized agent may submit a copyright report via our built-in reporting system on any post page or by emailing our designated contact at:

Designated Copyright Agent Email: copyright@lyrify.org
Subject Line: Formal Copyright Infringement Notice

To be effective, your notice must include: (a) Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (b) Direct URL of the allegedly infringing material on Lyrify; (c) Your contact details (email, address, phone); (d) A statement under penalty of perjury that you are the rightful copyright holder or authorized to act on their behalf.

4. Counter-Notification Procedure

If content you posted was removed due to a copyright report and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written Counter-Notification to copyright@lyrify.org. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, Lyrify will notify the original complainant. Content may be restored within 10 to 14 business days unless the copyright owner files a formal legal action in court.

5. Digital Timestamping & Verification

When premium users publish lyrics on Lyrify, our system issues an automated digital confirmation certificate containing an unalterable cryptographic SHA-256 fingerprint and timestamp. This digital record serves as evidence of date of creation and publication prvenstvo ("Prior Art") in legal disputes.
